In 2026, the Pulse of European Anti-Doping Policy Will Beat in Azerbaijan

On 18–19 March 2026, Azerbaijan will host the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) European Regional Symposium, a landmark gathering that will replace WADA’s Annual Symposium for 2026. The event is part of a global series of four Regional Symposiums being held across Europe, Africa, Asia/Oceania, and the Americas in preparation for the implementation of the 2027 World Anti-Doping Code and International Standards.

The Baku Symposium will convene representatives of European anti-doping organizations, governments, international sports bodies, athletes, and their representatives. The program will focus on updates to the 2027 Code and Standards, compliance readiness, stakeholder responsibilities, and strengthened cooperation across the region.

Structured around WADA’s Code Implementation Support Program, the Symposium will feature interactive sessions, case studies, peer exchanges, and active engagement of athletes and government officials. It will serve as an important platform for knowledge sharing, capacity building, and partnership building to advance clean sport in Europe.
